HARARE - ZANU-PF's Harare Provincial Political Commissar, Voyage Dambuza, has drawn attention for his unprecedented success in mobilising large crowds to attend inter-district post-conference feedback meetings across the province, a feat hailed as historic within the party's commissariat structures.

According to internal reports and confirmation from national leadership, Dambuza's ability to rally supporters in urban areas traditionally considered opposition strongholds has been described as a significant achievement.

"Though some results are complemented by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Elder Doctor Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Dambuza has become a name that cannot be ignored in mobilising masses. He has turned political rhetoric into reality, which is a defining trait of a political commissar," a party member said.

Dambuza's success has been attributed to his ability to connect with diverse audiences, listen to local concerns, and articulate ZANU-PF's vision under Mnangagwa's leadership. His grassroots engagements have been credited with building trust, countering opposition influence, and fostering loyalty among supporters.

"He taps into the energy of young people and women, fostering activism while adjusting strategies to fit local contexts. Using artistes whose music resonates with fans, Dambuza ensures ZANU-PF's message reaches communities effectively," the member added.

His efforts form part of ZANU-PF's broader strategy to strengthen grassroots presence and promote Mnangagwa's national development agenda. Recently, Dambuza has been active in initiatives such as the ‘Fishers of Men' campaign, aimed at recruiting new members and empowering youths and women.

While his leadership has been widely praised, some critics have accused him of employing divisive tactics, though these claims remain unsubstantiated.

Despite the controversies, Dambuza's mobilisation capacity has earned him recognition within ZANU-PF, cementing his role as a key figure in Harare's political landscape.
