Presidential Borehole Commissioned at Mahomva Shopping Centre in Bulawayo

BULAWAYO - A Presidential Command Borehole has been commissioned at Mahomva Shopping Centre in Bulawayo, in a move aimed at easing water challenges faced by the local community.
The borehole was commissioned on Friday, with ZANU PF Shadow Member of Parliament Kamamba serving as guest of honour.
Kamamba explained that the borehole was drilled under the Presidential Command Borehole Scheme, with the Minister of State for Bulawayo, Judith Ncube, represented by Mr Gwatiwa.
"This was a partnership where Zinwa drilled the borehole and the residents, represented by both the Bulawayo United Residents Association and the Bulawayo Progressive Association, contributed to the purchase of a Jojo tank, solar and pump with help from us leaders," Kamamba said.
He added that although the event was not political, residents expressed gratitude towards the ruling party leadership.
"From me, the residents asked for developments around this project, such as a nutrition garden for the elderly," he said.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen water security in Bulawayo through collaboration between Government, community associations and local leadership.
