Madzibaba Ishmael convicted of rape

Apostolic sect leader Ishmael Chokurongera, widely known as Madzibaba Ishmael, has been convicted of rape by a Harare regional magistrate following the conclusion of a full trial.

Chokurongera (56) was found guilty this afternoon by magistrate Estere Chivasa. Details of the case were presented over the course of the trial, resulting in today's conviction.

He is scheduled to return to court tomorrow for a victim impact assessment, which will guide the sentencing process.
