ZANU-PF Harare province has begun a cell verification exercise aimed at streamlining party structures and improving the accuracy of its membership database.

Harare provincial chairman Godwills Masimirembwa said the exercise follows a directive from the party's national leadership and is intended to ensure that all party structures are properly accounted for.

Speaking at a meeting with district leaders in Zone 4, Masimirembwa said the initiative will verify leadership structures down to cell level, including national ID and voter registration details.

"We intend to conduct a leadership verification exercise across our districts, branches, and cells," he said, adding that the process must be completed by the end of May.

He noted that the party's ongoing computerisation programme had revealed data inconsistencies, but insisted that all structures exist on the ground and only require proper verification and recording.

According to Masimirembwa, Zone 4 alone has about 40 000 leaders, with Harare province expected to capture data for more than 240 000 members across all zones.

He said the exercise will be rolled out across Zones 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, after which verified data will be submitted to national headquarters for consolidation.

Masimirembwa also reiterated the province's support for the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, urging members to continue submitting their input to Parliament through formal channels.
