Man kills brother in bar fight

A GWANDA man is on the run after allegedly killing his elder brother during a fist fight over an undisclosed dispute at Simbumbumbu Village in Matabeleland South province.
Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Inspector Chiratidzo Dube confirmed the incident, which occurred on May 17.
She said the suspect, Humphrey Ncube (37), allegedly got into a misunderstanding with his brother, Mbongeni Ncube (43), while they were drinking at Phumulani Bar, resulting in a violent altercation.
"I can confirm that we recorded a murder case where a man killed his brother. The two brothers had a misunderstanding while they were at Phumulani Bar resulting in a fist fight. Mbongeni fell on the ground and his head hit a rock. He sustained injuries and he was rushed to the United Bulawayo Hospitals where he died," said Inspector Dube.
Police said Mbongeni succumbed to his injuries the following day while receiving treatment at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Humphrey Ncube reportedly fled after the incident and police have since launched a manhunt for him.
Inspector Dube appealed to members of the public with information that may assist in the arrest of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.
She also urged members of the public to avoid resorting to violence when resolving disputes, warning that arguments can easily escalate into fatal confrontations.
