Zanu PF chair accuses aspiring MP of lusting after his wife

Factional tensions in Chiredzi West have escalated after Ward 8 Zanu PF chairman Zimwenje Zimwenje accused aspiring Member of Parliament Godknows Ganyani of attempting to "snatch" his wife.

In a series of audio messages sent to a constituency WhatsApp group titled Chiredzi United Group, Zimwenje claimed Ganyani was sabotaging him financially in order to destabilise his marriage.

"I am challenging Ganyani, who wants to be MP of this constituency, because I got information that he wants to take my wife,x Zimwenje said.

He further alleged that Ganyani deliberately excluded him from financial distributions within the constituency.

"He made sure I do not get money, and whenever he was distributing cash in the constituency he never gave me, saying he wanted poverty to strike Zimwenje so that his wife divorces him," he added.

Zimwenje publicly challenged Ganyani - who is also in the same WhatsApp group - to respond to the allegations, but said the aspiring MP did not reply.

Efforts to obtain comment from Ganyani were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or WhatsApp messages.

The accusations have added fuel to already simmering factional disputes within Zanu PF structures in Chiredzi West.
