Steward Bank for raiding a news agency The Source.

Scores of journalist have taken to social media expressing their disgust.

Below are some of the posts by journalists;

Trevor Ncube  (AMH chairman) @TrevorNcube

Journalists must refuse to be bullied by #Econet executives

A disturbing assault on the media by a corporate bully . How long will #Econet be allowed to get away with this

Joe Black @joeblackzw

If Zim media aren't beholden to Econet ad dollars, all editors must call their staff and order a WALKOUT of that presser right now.

Angela Jimu @AngJimu

True! RT @TakuraZhangazha: Econet Wireless and Steward Bank are a real threat to media freedom and freedom of expression in Zimbabwe.

Zenzele Ndebele @zenzele 4h4 hours ago

#Econet is now behaving like high school bully.

Journalists have strongly condemned the behaviour of @econetzimbabwe saying it is an infringement of their rights  Tabani Moyo wrote on his Facebook page.

Its  time to stop this monster from destroying the cornerstone of human existence! Strive Masiyiwa without freedom of expression and media freedom - its difficult to enjoy the rest of the rights in the Bill of Rights. Journalism thrives of protecting sources and at this state, if Econet was a government; it was going to be worse than the current government due to its intolerance to scrutiny
