Former President Robert Mugabe's chief critic, Professor Jonathan Moyo has claimed that US ambassador to Zimbabwe Harry Thomas, Jr is planning on distribute seven million smartphones in the rural areas.
As usual Moyo took to Twitter to make the allegations : "After #Dynamos myth of 7 million fans came MDC-T myth of 7m rural radios & now #DirtyHarry's myth of 7m smartphones!"
"Do you know the myth? #US envoy @harrykthomasjr1's plot is to distribute free 7 million smartphones in rural areas!".
Thomas, Jr and his French counterpart, Ambassador Laurent Delahousse have long been accused by government of inciting protests countrywide.
According to Government, the two were using social media to fuel civil disobedience and ultimately destabilise Zimbabwe.
