A tout in Bulawayo is in trouble after he held a Fourwinds resident hostage and demanded his belongings and cash of which if he failed to produce he threatened him with death.

George Msimanga (28) was not asked to plead to robbery when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure. He was further remanded for trial to October 4.

The court heard that on September 4 at 9pm the complainant who was driving his car had a puncture in the city centre. Msimanga and his colleague who is still at large pounced on him and demanded that he gives them his leather jacket and wallet containing bank cards and money and $200 in it. This was after they allegedly threatened to kill him if he did not comply.

They took his belonging and went away. He reported the matter to the police leading to their arrest. Total cost of the property and cash stolen was $850 and only the bank cards and wallet were recovered.
