MUZARABANI - An elderly MDC T activist Urayayi Nguruve (75) was denied access to social welfare maize aid at Gunduza Primary School in Muzarabani North on Saturday the 5th of November.

Nguruve told Bulawayo24.com that the village head Oliver Kangosa and his secretary Mark Rukando forcibly took his maize saying the maize is for ZANU PF supporters.

"Kangosa and Rukando from our ward (24) humiliated me saying l should not get maize aid since l am an opposition supporter. They shouted at the top of their voices this maize is for ZANU PF members and Nguruve must not take food from us, hence l went home empty handed, said the pathetic Nguruve" .

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Human Rights representative for Mazowe North, Evans Matola castigated such actions and said food must not be politicised in this drought era.

"As Human Rights defenders the politicisation of food is unwelcome the government must full fill its duty to feed every Zimbabwean regardless of political affiliation every citizen has a constitutional right to food no one must be starved at this time of hunger," said Matola.
