South African theatre artist ensemble, uLoyiko has informed umthwakazireview.com that it has been invited for a live interview with South Africa's TV station ANN7 on its Africa Tonight programme on Tuesday 12th September 2017. The interview will be broadcast live on DSTV channel 405 from 21:00hrs RSA Time. The ensemble's Dramatist and Researcher, Yanga Mhluzi and Ayanda Manala will once more grace the programme. The duo once appeared on the programme on the 20th March 2017 on the eve of their successful 380 Degrees Imbizo Demo on Gukurahundi Genocide they organized in South Africa on the 21st of March 2017.
A brief from the duo indicate that they will continue to champion the message about human rights violations in Africa. They indicate that they will also focus on current events of concern in South Africa such as the Grace Mugabe's assault saga concerning Gabriella Engels, Mugabe's unprovoked attack on Mandela's legacy and the ANC's response to Mugabe's disgraceful comments.
Grace Mugabe's alleged assault case seems to be causing tensions between Harare and Pretoria and Mugabe's latest comments on Mandela seem to be heightening the tensions between the two governments. The ANC's Secretary General, Gwede Mantashe has called on Zanu PF to restrain its leader while Mugabe has responded with adding more insult, this time directed at Mantashe calling him "stupid" for daring to call him into order on his Mandela remarks.
The host of the programme is one Audrey Chimwanda. The duo report that their last interview with Audrey Chimwanda was cut short by 7 minutes for unexplained reasons.
The duo indicate that the stopping of the programme before time limited their ability to discuss key issues on Gukurahundi Genocide and feel they were robbed of time. Chimwanda is reported to be of Zimbabwean origin and there are fears she might not have been too pleased or comfortable with the issue of Gukurahundi Genocide being raised repeatedly by the duo. The 7 minutes was apparently filled with adverts afterwards. They are hoping to get a fair coverage this time.
Mhluzi and Manala and the whole Loyiko ensemble are calling on South Africans and uMthwakazi to tune in on Tuesday at 21:00hrs in ANN7's Africa Tonight Programme on DSTV channel 405 to listen to the programme. Therefore, do not miss out on the interview.
