Failure to control temper turned dangerous for a Plumtree man who went haywire with a kitchen knife and a scotch cart rim at a local house demanding his debt.
The matter came to light at Plumtree magistrates courts yesterday where Alton Silenje (37) appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
He pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to tomorrow for sentencing.
Prosecutor Anorld Mudekunye told the court that on August 22 Silenje stormed Thandekile Tshuma's home and found her with her father-in-law.
The charged Silenje demanded his debt from Tshuma and the father-in-law tried to calm Silenje down but he had none of it and chased after him holding a kitchen knife.
The father-in-law ran for his dear life and locked himself in a room.
Tshuma was at the receiving end as the suspect picked a scotch cart rim and assaulted her with it.
He also picked a shovel and assaulted Tshuma all over the body.
He only stopped assaulting her when he saw a mob coming after him and he went away.
A police report was filed leading to his arrest.
