As the results of the Zanu-PF primary elections start trickling in, the Zanu-PF central Committee member Delani Moyo whose supporters had previously claimed he won the first round, is reportedly leading in the rerun results.

Party sources say he is winning with big margins despite the low turnout that characterised the polls due to short notice of the rerun after military intervention.

In one of the wards, the results state that Delani was at the top with 369 votes, Moses Langa with 55, Qhubani Moyo with 26, Sifuso Mpofu with 1, Nkosana Mthunzi with 2, Ernest Ncube with 1 and Davison Moyo with 6.

In Lambamai, Delani was also leading with 141 votes ahead of Langa who got 129, and only three words have been counted so far with Delani leading.

The  Politburo, a main decision-making body in the ruling Zanu PF has nullified the Insiza North Primary election result that saw former legislator Andrew Langa's son Moses, winning against the allegedly most preferred candidate Delani Moyo who is a central Committee member amid uproar over allegations of vote buying, rigging and violence.

The party leadership wanted Langa to be the candidate as concerned party members indicated that there was a delegation of people from Harare who came to campaign for him, used party vehicles and 2023 Presidential campaign material while others were not afforded the same privileges.
