Three knife-wielding robbers allegedly pounced on a congregant who was going for an all-night prayer and robbed him of his phone and money.
Manqoba Moyo (28), Mthulisi Sibanda (22) and Thamsanqa Mathe (27) were dragged to Plumtree magistrates courts yesterday to answer to robbery charges.
They were remanded in custody to February 7 by magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware.
The state alleged on February 1 the trio saw Khulumeni Ndlovu who was walking on a footpath on his way to an all night prayer.
The suspects pounced on him and threatened to stab him before robbing him of his money and phone.
Hours later they used the same trick to rob two other pedestrians.
Police acted swiftly and arrested the trio.
Selestine Madziwa prosecuted.
