Dr Magaisa, firing of Mujuru will never backfire because she is twiddle dum!

Magaisa says the firing of Mujuru could backfire on the Mnangagwa faction if she and her supporters were to force dissolution of parliament.

"Mujuru's supporters, who would hope to bank on support from the opposition to trigger new national elections, allegedly have the needed 178 MPs to back the plan, enough to move such a motion to dissolve Parliament," reported the Daily News.

"Alex Magaisa, a law professor at Kent University in the UK, and a former aide to opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, confirmed that the new Zimbabwe Constitution allowed Parliament to cause its own dissolution via a two-thirds majority in both Houses, the Senate and the National Assembly, sitting separately."

The trouble is Dr Magaisa, like his former boss Morgan Tsvangirai, is sadly one of those Zimbabweans who have in the past been thrust into positions of power and responsibility way above their ability. Although they have proven beyond doubt just how incompetent they are whilst in these position and have since been thrown out; they, nonetheless, still hunger for the power. Their hunger for lost glory has become an addiction; they will do anything to get another shot.
Dr Magaisa has taken to writing endless political drivel just to remain in the public eye, this is just his lasted instalment.

Mujuru supporters forcing the dissolution of parliament is a figment of Dr Magaisa's power starved imagination for many reasons but I will name three:

1) the Mnangagwa has picked off the ringleaders of the Mujuru faction; politburo members like Rugare Gumbo, Dzikamai Mavhaire, etc.; and then went for provincial, youth and women's league chairpersons and hammered them hard. They knew those below the leaders will scatter in fear and confusion. The overwhelming majority of the Zanu PF MPs and Senators out there will only be too glad to endorse whatever is put before them by the Mnangagwa faction than risk a fight they know they will be certain to lose.

People like Rugare Gumbo knew they had identified themselves with VP Mujuru for too long to switch sides. In any case they knew they the Mnangagwa faction would never be contend until they have purged some big names and so there was no escape for him and many of the other top Mujuru supporters.

2) No doubt there will be few MPs who are Mujuru supporters who will hold their nerve, not enough to force dissolution of parliament, but can nonetheless force the holding of by-election if they were to resign. Ask yourself, how many Zanu PF MPs, on both sides of the Zanu PF factional divide, do not know that last year's elections were rigged and, more significantly, which faction masterminded the vote rigging? There is nothing to stop the Mnangagwa faction rigging the by-elections!

3) Only some as naïve and gullible like Dr Magaisa will put any faith in a Mujuru and Tsvangirai coalition achieving anything. Tsvangirai had his best chance to bring about real and significant democratic changes in Zimbabwe during the GNU by implementing the democratic reforms. MDC failed to get even one reform implemented, not a sausage! Who advised MDC to do nothing - none other than Dr Alex Magaisa himself!

The Mujuru faction has known Mugabe's modus operandi was to break all the rules and break the limbs and even commit mass murder to secure absolute power. People like VP Mujuru, Gumbo and all the other senior factional leaders would have read the reports of the wanton violence in the 2008 presidential run-off and the blatant vote rigging in last year's elections. Surely they should have realised then that they would need more that numbers to win the factional war against the Mnangagwa faction. Tsvangirai and his herd of wildebeests had the numbers but the counted for nothing if elections are not free, fair and credible.

The Mujuru faction should have pushed for democratic reforms in Zanu PF and the dismantling of the shadowy Join Operation Command that has ruled the nation for decades now. VP Mujuru and her supporters done nothing; instead they have sat there like the "Hear-nothing, See-nothing and Say-nothing".

A coalition of Tsvangirai and Mai Mujuru is but a team of twiddle-dee and twiddle- dum, they will never achieve anything of note; not even it they were to live another thousand years!
