Tsvangirai relevant to Zimbabwe history

Since the passing on of Nelson Mandela, I read a snippet somewhere that Morgan Tsvangirai would be attending his Qunu funeral and someone said that Morgan Tsvangirai was desperate for relevance.

Tsvangirai is not perfect and he has made mistakes along with each and everyone of us; "Let you who is without sin cast the first stone."

Do you know what really stands out for me about Tsvangirai?

During the bloody run-up to the 2008 Presidential election run-off, Tsvangirai made a great and substantial sacrifice for the people of Zimbabwe.

He stepped aside, after actually winning the vote on March 29, in order to safeguard the people of Zimbabwe who were being bludgeoned to death and into submission as rivers of blood, intimidation, suppression and fear flowed in this nation.

He is a man of substance alongside men like Roy Bennett and others who have sacrificed a lot for the betterment of this nation and are being reviled for it!

Has the world, the region and Zimbabwe forgotten this?.

Barrack Obama should never have gotten that Nobel Peace prize. It should have gone to Tsvangirai.

I wonder how Obama would have stood up under the conditions Tsvangirai had to stand up under. Not nearly as well, I believe!

I struggle to respect most of the Sadc leaders and Jacob Zuma of South Africa, the AU and even the United Nations and some of the Western countries for conveniently sweeping aside the bloody and tragic history of post independent Zimbabwe and cosying up to a lie and  deception.

I think they purposefully placed a blindfold over their own eyes to the truth.

As a Christian, I find this heartbreaking and totally unacceptable and yet, I rest in the sure knowledge, that I serve a God of absolute truth and justice and justice and truth will prevail.

Politics is a truly dirty game and God is coming back to judge the nations!

And as to the relevance of Tsvangirai? The bottom line is that he is so relevant to this nation that Zanu PF have pulled out all the stops since the MDC's formation to destroy his relevance at all cost.

And for a Christian nation, we should be ashamed and weeping over our State before our God.

May God expose and reveal the truth of those 2002, 2008 and 2013 elections for our sin shall not remain hidden.

And I pray for Zanu PF that in the Lord's mercy and grace.

He will draw them to repentance and a softening of heart before His judgment falls.

May God help Zimbabwe this coming year and to all who have ears may you hear what the Spirit is saying; And to the nation; No repentance! No restoration!
