Zimbabwe hopes to clinch its first medal tonight in the finals of the swimming competitions when Kirsty Coventry, Peter Wetzlar and Sean Gunn return to the pool.
Coventry managed the best time in the morning heats of the 100m backstroke with a time of 1.02.20sec.
Her time was ahead of that of two South African medal contenders Pinslon Karin and Jessica Ashley Cooper, raising hopes of a possible medal if she maintains the form tonight.
Wetzlar and Gunn also made it to the finals of the 50m butterfly with Gunn competing in the 100m freestyle.
Earlier, Coventry tweeted "The pool in Brazzaville is awesome!"
