DYNAMOS are the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League defending champions and are the most successful team in Zimbabwe with a record 20 league titles to their name.

One would ask what it takes for them to be on top of their game? Is it the players? Anyway, let us take a look at how much their players are paid.

The social media was this week dominated by chats of how much the boys in blue and white earn. It was claimed the majority of players that include Sydney Linyama, Artwell Mukandi, Themba Ndlovu, Cliff Sekete and Walter Mukanga earn between $800- $900 while the club's junior players are in the $600 to $700 salary bracket. Little known Travolta "Okocha" Fireyi, Abel Gwatidzo and Tawanda Chokuamba go home with $600 each as monthly salaries. Fast improving Blessing Moyo, Tatenda Mukuruva and Brett Amidu each go home with $700 per month.

It was claimed that senior players that include captain Murape Murape, Devon Chafa, Tawanda Muparati, Absa Premiership rejects Roderick Mutuma, Simba Sithole and Tafadzwa Rusike, earn between $1000 and $1500. The players take home more come end of the month after match winning bonuses are taken into account. For a win, the players are paid $300, and $50 for a draw, although the players are pushing to have their draw allowance doubled.

On the other hand, Highlanders senior players are believed to be in the same salary bracket with the likes of Murape, Chafa and Mutuma. The DeMbare players and technical team's salaries are paid by their sponsors BancABC who are also the prime sponsors of Bulawayo giants Highlanders.

Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said he could not discuss how much his players are paid in public, saying it was unfortunate there were people eager to publicise what players are paid, yet employment contracts are confidential.

However, he hinted that they were eager to win the title for the fourth year running and would do all it takes to keep their players motivated.

"We usually give our players more incentives for games against CAPS United and Highlanders but we cannot rule out chances of doing so here and there with eight games to go before the end of the season. We have told the players to fight through out. We are hungry for success and I believe we will be beating our opponents by big margins. We are going to win this league again. Our boys are hungry for goals and our supporters should just keep on supporting them in their numbers," said Mubaiwa.
