13 Oct 2016 at 09:05hrs | Views
The battle for the Castle Lager Premiership Golden Boot has been effectively reduced to a two horse race pitting Caps United's Leonard Tsipa and Gift Mbweti of Hwange.
Tsipa has netted 10 times while Mbwete is second with nine.
Only four games are left in the season.
Last year's winner, Knox Mutizwa then Highlanders player had 14 goals while Nelson Maziwisa and Tendai Ndoro won the award in the previous two seasons, netting 18 goals, respectively.
Said Mbweti on Tuesday : "I am optimistic that come end of season, I will be the top goal scorer. I am itching for the Harare City game at home this weekend so that I can keep pace with the current top scorer Leonard Tsipa from Caps United,"
Tsipa is suspended for Sunday clash with Dynamos giving Mbweti to capitalise.
