Lightning strikes for Bolt as he and Maria head home

Bolt's luck finally ran out this week as he and Maria were evicted from Big Brother: The Chase during Sunday night's live eviction show. The Sierra Leonian heads home just a week after his love interest Betty, while the Namibian was only up for eviction after Head of House Nando saved himself and put her up in his place.
The duo are the 5th set of housemates to be evicted from Big Brother: The Chase, leaving 18 housemates competing for the USD300 000 grand prize.
It was a tense evening in the Ruby and Diamond houses moments before IK revealed the evictees. Once the SizweNtsalubaGobodo auditor had delivered the verified voting results and the Heads of House had revealed their 'save & replace' decisions, IK summoned Bolt from the house first, with Maria following suit.
Once on stage, Bolt told IK he'd preferred spending time in the Ruby house because it was "structured" and "neat". He said he hadn't struggled to bond with the other housemates since Betty's departure last week. IK also quizzed Maria about the chat she'd had with Angelo – with him wanting more and her wanting to be friends. The Namibian thought that Nando had put her up for eviction in his place because he didn't know her that well and felt that Cleo & Hakeem's relationship was real.
South African Hip Hop enigma AKA brought serious charm to start off the eviction show with his hit 'Jealousy' before returning with Da L.E.S. to perform 'Kontrol', once the evictees had both joined IK on stage.
In this week's news media segment, Boity Thulo showed viewers how to share their opinions on the daily website poll on the official Big Brother website, www.bigbotherafrica.com. Whether it's asking about the hottest guys or which relationships are for real, the daily poll gives viewers yet another way to weigh in on The Chase.
Ruby housemates emerged victorious in Airtel Arena Showdown earlier in the week, which saw the housemates building an intricate system of bridges to move water from one side of the arena to the other. Head of House Feza chose to bring Maria and Annabel across to the Ruby house and sent Bassey & Pokello to the Diamond house.
Last week's evicted housemates also sent final heartwarming messages to viewers following their departure from the show. Motamma was grateful for a bit of pampering outside the house and said that she held no grudges against Annabel for using her 'save & replace' decision to put her up for eviction. Betty said that she'd learnt a lot from her time in The Chase and that the diversity of cultures in the houses had inspired her to travel more.
This week's viewer vote winners were: HD PVR Decoder – Maria Serombo (Namibia); Uhuru Tablet – Julie Njambi (Kenya) and DStv Walka – Gwendoline Matura (South Africa). Don't forget to vote to keep your favourite housemate in the game after Monday's nominations, to stand a chance to win!
The halfway mark is almost here – and with just over 50 days to go, The Chase is only going to get tougher and more interesting! Catch all the updates on the official Big Brother website, Facebook and Twitter.
