The MDC (led by Ncube) YOUTH ASSEMBLY said in a statement on Monday, that the only criminal act that the Co-minister in the organ of national healing Moses Mzila-Ndlovu might have committed is that of speaking against past injustices in Matabeleland and the continued marginalisation of the region.
Full Statement below:
MDC YOUTH ASSEMBLY (BYO) STATEMENT ON THREAT TO DEPUTY SEC. GENERAL HON. MOSES MZILA NDLOVU
The MDC Youth Assembly received with shock and alarm the unmasked plot to illegally arrest the minister in the organ of national healing and MDC Deputy Secretary General Moses Mzila Ndlovu.
In a letter written by officer commanding Victoria Falls district, Chief Superintendent J Chiwona accused the Hon Minister of being a criminal posing as a politician and vowed to arrest him as they have done before, his only crime being speaking against past injustices in Matabeleland and the continued marginalisation of the region.
This statement by the misled Superintendent comes at the backdrop of the earlier statements uttered by another law officer cum politician Edmore Veterai from Matabeleland North who said the MDC President hon. Welshman Ncube should be taught to be Zimbabwean.
As a movement we are convinced that the Matabeleland North law enforcers have chosen to become political and project themselves as political players who can rival law makers form the MDC.
As a movement we are urging Veterai and Chiwona to remove their law enforcement jackets and dress in political clothing so that we may know how to treat them without fear or favour and surely we shall view and deal them as politicians and they will face the same fate that has befallen all ZANU PF cadres who have sought to derail the moving train of the people's revolution.
As an Assembly, we urge Commisioner Chihuri to look deep into his officials that he has deployed in the Mat North region and see whether they are the best for the region as they have created unnecessary animosity between the law makers and law enforcers.
As an Assembly, we would like to assure the Leaders of MDC , the members of MDC that we will not go and sleep soundly when our leaders are in dire threat of wanton arrest, abduction and murder from the agents of the regime.
As an Assembly we will be on vigil and secure the security of our leadership by all means necessary.
We would to send a message straight to those who are posing to be a threat to MDC leadership that we will brook no nonsense and we will act as the untamed cadres of the movement in order towards safeguarding our leaders and bringing the just and Fair Zimbabwe.
