Gold panners beat up DDF clerk over counter book

Four gold panners from Whitesrun Farm in Ntabazinduna who ganged up to assault a clerk with the District Development Fund (DDF) have appeared before the court charged with assault.
Njani Ndebele (30) Sunukai Nyoni (33), Simon Mdimba (35) and Russell Sibanda (24) were not asked to plead to assault when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sheunesu Matova.
The magistrate granted them $30 each and remanded them to June 20 for trial.
The court heard that the complainant in the matter is Phathisani Ncube (33) and on June 20 at 5pm he met Nyoni at the business centre and Nyoni asked him about the counter book he forgot on the counter in the bar.
Ncube told him that he left it at his home and would go and take it soon. He then proceeded to the butchery to buy meet and the gang followed.
When he got out they ganged up to assault him and took his $50. He reported the matter to the police leading to their arrest.
