People should value physical fitness: Grace Mugabe

The First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe has urged people to value physical fitness which she says can be the solution to some ailments instead of drugs which some people are quick to take.
The First Lady said this while addressing representatives from health and physical fitness clubs, beauty and fashion houses during a health expo in Harare.
In her address at the health expo which aims to promote healthy living, the First Lady explained that her charity work at Danhiko promotes healthy living by having students participate in various sporting activities under the Danhiko Annual Paralympic Games.
She said in this regard, the objectives of her charity work are in tandem with the aims of the health expo.
She also spoke about the advantages of a healthy and nutritious diet and avoiding life styles that lead to non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular and respiratory chronic conditions.
She called on food and beverages industries to play a part in promoting healthy living while urging parents to encourage their children to participate in physical fitness programmes and desist from the increasing trend of children whose only form of recreation is sedentary indoor games.
The expo has been hosted by Zim-Afro and the department of the Health Advisor to the President and Cabinet, Dr Timothy Stamps.
Several high profile people such as Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Walter Mzembi, Deputy Minister of State Enterprises and Parastatals, Cde Walter Chidhakwa, Health Advisor to the President and Cabinet, Dr Timothy Stamps and Presidential Advisor on disability issues, Retired Brigadier-General Felix Muchemwa, Chitungwiza Hospital chief executive officer, Dr. Obadiah Moyo, representatives of the Alcoholic Beverages Manufacturers Association as well as the Zimbabwe Traffic Safety Board, attended the expo.
Guests had the opportunity to tour the exhibition stands displaying various health paraphernalia and equipment as well as some of the drugs on the market.
They were also given a taste of some of the latest trends in the world, Zimbabwean fashion from the House of Alice Knut which uses a mixture of ethnic prints and denim and from the House of Nyarai Muchemwa as well as Sabina Cheuswa.
