South African opposition leader Julius Malema has claimed that members of the South African Police Services were instructed to shoot him and his Economic Freedom Fighters for staging an unsanctioned rally at the uMngeni Municipality in the KwaZulu Natal on Wednesday.
The defiant Malema charged at the police saying, "The information I have is that police are saying they are going to kill us. They have issued an instruction that we must be killed. We are not going anywhere. You are used to killing people at rural areas. This is a municipal property. Stop telling me about rush permit."
Malema wanted to hand over a memorandum demanding that the Municipality of uMngeni stop employing people through political membership or demand sexual favours from women in return for employment.
