SOME areas of Bulawayo are likely to go for over two weeks without water after a pipeline to the booster pump that supplies water to some suburbs developed a leak since March 1.

"The City of Bulawayo would like to advise the members of the public of a water supply interruption for the areas fed from Arnold's Way booster pumps, Burnside. On March 1, a serious leak developed on the pipeline that supplies the booster pumps, resulting in the flooding of the pump house and malfunctioning of the pumps. This led to the interruption of water supplies to some areas," Bulawayo town clerk Christopher Dube said on Tuesday in a notice to residents.

He said the expected to restore supplies on March 23.

Last week, the council also said the water pumps which supply the Tuli 6J and Rifle Range reservoirs had broken down, leaving some suburbs and outlying areas dry.

Dube said the affected suburbs were Esigodini, Lookout Masuku Barracks, Fortune Gate, Selborne Park, Matsheumhlope, Parklands, Khumalo, Queens Park, Suburbs, Mahatshula, Woodville, Kingsdale, Lochview, Sunnighill, Marlands, Glencoe, Riverside, Waterford, Manningdale, Willsgrove, Buenavista and Douglasdale, which are supplied by Tuli 6J.

He said those supplied by Rifle Range reservoir were Harrisvale, Jungle, Trenance, Richmond, Sauestown, Neqi, Barbourfields, Mzilikazi, Nguboyenja and Makokoba.
