Man killed for stealing donkeys

A man lost his life on Thursday night after being accused of stealing donkeys in Gwanda, Dongwe Village.
Qhubekani Nyathi(38) succumbed to injuries after being assaulted by Makhosi Dube and Philani Mnyaka at Tshiboyi business centre.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic police said Mnyaka was in custody facing murder charges while Dube was still on the run.
"ZRP, Gwanda is investigating a murder case in which Qhubekani Nyathi (38) died on 28/07/22 after he was attacked by the suspects, Philani Mnyaka (33) and Makhosi Dube on 26/07/22 near Tshoboyi Business Centre, Dongwe.
"The suspects had accused the victim of stealing their donkeys. Philani Mnyaka was arrested and Makhosi Dube is on the run", said the police.
Cases of murder are on the rise in the country, irking the parliament to last week move a motion on how to end the crime.
