Friends assault collegue over infidelity rumours

A woman in Plumtree, Mphoengs village was left nursing wounds after being accused of exposing her friend's infidelity to the community.
Vukile Dube (22) and Sinikiwe Ncube (19) all of Mphoengs in Ingwizi village last month assaulted Sithabile Nobuhle Tshuma, a bar attendant at Bambazonke Bar in Mphoengs.
Ironically, the trio are friends and Sithabile was accused of spreading rumours that Vukile was having an affair with Sinikiwe's husband.
In a rare act of friendship, Sinikiwe chose to ignore the rumours and instead teamed up with her "co-wife" to assault the whistle blower.
Appearing before Plumtree magistrate's court Mr Joshua Nembaware, on Friday the court heard the duo assaulted Tshuma using logs and fists leading to the victim sustaining body injuries.
"The complained sustained a swollen right eye, left arm and back pains", read the court papers.
While appearing for the state, Mr Arnold Mudekunye remanded them out of custody to 18 September 2023.
