Several National University of Science and Technology (Nust) students have been prevented from taking exams due to unpaid tuition fees.

Some students, including those who made partial payments, were unable to register for their modules on time.

A first-year Geographical Information Systems student expressed frustration after being locked out of the exam room despite making a partial payment.

Nust's director of communications and marketing, Thabani Mpofu, advised students to communicate with university authorities to arrange payment plans.

While the university encourages students to pay at least half of their semester fees for registration and exam eligibility, results are withheld until all fees are settled.

Previously, the government intervened to reverse a decision by the institution to prevent unpaid students from taking exams.
