Prison officer stabbed to death on Christmas day

A 35-YEAR-OLD Plumtree man is in soup after he stabbed his niece to death with an okapi knife.
Khuliso Tshuma was dragged to Plumtree magistrates courts yesterday after he allegedly murdered Prisca Tshuma (23) who was a prison officer.
The suspect appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware who did not ask him to plead to the charge and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
The state led by Selestine Madziwa alleged on December 25 the now deceased Prisca was sweeping with her baby on her back while his uncle was seated on the varendah.
He pulled an okapi knife and stabbed Prisca on the neck.
After the stab she screamed for help and tried to run away before falling down meters away.
Luwiza Dube came to her rescue and she told her to remove the baby from her back and she died on the spot soon after releasing her baby.
The suspect fled from the scene but was subsequently arrested.
It was also established that the suspect once raped the deceased and was sentenced only to be released by the Presidential aminesty.
