Five church members perish in road accident

At least five people died yesterday in Bakasa, Guruve, when a truck they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned.

The deceased are members of Mugodhi church who were coming from Mudhindo.

Witnesses said two died on the spot, while three died upon admission at Guruve Hospital, and several were injured.

"The driver failed to engage gears in the mountain of Bakasa and the truck overturned, killing two on the spot, three died upon admission, and several were injured, " Givemore Zulu said.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe could not be reached for comment.
