Senior citizen rapes minor (9) over match sticks

In a shocking incident a 72-year-old Bindura man is in soup after he allegedly raped a grade two girl who was looking for matches sticks at his house.
Lazarus Chiku of Chiweshe village, Bindura was not asked to plead to the charge and advised to apply for bail at the High Court by Magistrate Amos Mbobo.
The state, led by Clever Nyapfani, alleged sometime in December last year that the victim's stepmother sent her to Chiku's house to search for matchsticks.
The minor arrived and saw the suspect who dragged her in his bedroom and raped her once.
After the rape he gave her the matches sticks and threatened her not to tell anyone about the rape.
The minor went home crying and revealed the matter to her stepmother.
A police report was filed, leading to the arrest of Chiku.
