Police are searching for a 34-year-old woman, Linnar Muzimela, and her boyfriend, identified only as Nkosi, who stand accused of murdering Muzimela's stepmother, 58-year-old Jenifer Dube, and secretly burying her in a shallow grave.

The shocking killing allegedly took place in May 2025 at Magotsha Line, but the horrific crime only came to light months later. On 2 September, authorities exhumed Dube's remains from the backyard garden following a tip-off.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the investigation is ongoing, and the public's assistance is critical in apprehending the suspects.

"We are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Linnar Muzimela and her boyfriend, Nkosi. They are wanted in connection with a murder in which the victim, Muzimela's stepmother, was killed and buried in a shallow grave at Magotsha Line," Comm Nyathi said.

Neighbours reportedly grew suspicious after noticing Dube had not been seen for several weeks, prompting the police search that revealed the grim discovery.

While the motive behind the killing remains unclear, authorities have intensified the manhunt. Comm Nyathi urged anyone with knowledge of the couple's whereabouts to report to the nearest police station immediately.

"This is a serious crime, and we urge members of the public to cooperate fully to ensure the suspects are brought to justice," he added.
