Referee Thembinkosi Sibanda required heavy police protection to leave Rufaro Stadium yesterday after a tense goalless draw between Dynamos and Triangle in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League relegation battle.

Immediately after the final whistle, several Dynamos players surrounded Sibanda, protesting a series of decisions they felt went against them. The situation escalated when some supporters hurled missiles at the match officials, including assistants Luckson Mhara and Oscar Bumhe, prompting police intervention. The incidents may see Dynamos face disciplinary action from the PSL.

Chasing a fifth consecutive league win to escape the relegation zone, Dynamos were left frustrated after failing to break down Triangle, coached by their former mentor Genesis Mangombe. Both sides created chances but could not convert. Dynamos coach Kelvin Kaindu described the draw as "two points dropped" but acknowledged the value of earning a vital point.

Dynamos' early threats included a long-range effort from Leeroy Mavhunga, saved by Triangle goalkeeper Takudzwa Chikosi, and a near-goal from an Abel Gwatidzo free kick tipped onto the post. Triangle responded with chances of their own, including low shots blocked by Dynamos keeper Prince Tafiremutsa and a rebound from a Thabani Kamusoko free kick.

In the second half, Dynamos came out stronger, creating opportunities through substitutes Enasio Perezo and Denver Mukamba, but failed to find the net.

The point lifted Dynamos to 16th with 29 points, still in the relegation zone with six games remaining, while Triangle moved to 32 points. Mangombe expressed satisfaction with his team's resilience, noting that four points from two games against his former club was acceptable but stressing the need to capitalize on future opportunities to escape the relegation fight.
