Two former high-profile Zimbabwean footballers have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking.

Abbas Amidu, formerly of Caps United, and Reuben Mhlanga, a former Dynamos defender, were caught in possession of approximately 750 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of US$75,000.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the arrests took place on October 3rd along the Kwekwe-Kadoma highway.

Investigations into the case are ongoing as authorities work to determine the source and intended distribution network of the seized drugs.
