NAMA 24 nominees out today

The nominees for the 24th National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) will be unveiled today, February 12, at 3pm on the official NAMA YouTube channel.
Organisers urged fans to tune in for the announcement. "12 February 2026, be sure to tune in on our YouTube channel, @NAMATV at 1500hrs and let's celebrate your favourite artiste," they posted on Facebook.
This year's nominees were selected from an impressive 1 117 submissions of works produced between December 1, 2024, and November 30, 2025 - reflecting the vibrancy and diversity of Zimbabwe's creative sector.
Excitement is already building ahead of the awards ceremony, set for February 28 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC). Running under the theme "Fearless Creativity," the event promises to celebrate both established icons and emerging talent across various artistic disciplines.
The awards night will feature a star-studded lineup of performers, including gospel artistes Ministers Ellard, Sharon Cherayi and Vabati VaJehova; dancehall heavyweight Freeman; hip hop act Bling4; jiti maestro Baba Harare; Afro-jazz luminaries Plaxedes Wenyika and Dino Mudondo; as well as Alexio Kawara, Sane Wavi, BaShupi and the legendary Sekuru Gudo.
The Chillspot Family will also take to the stage, with performances from Chillmaster, Fab G, Shone, Lil Eliana, Snowy, Runna Rulezi, Dorcus Moyo, Junior Spragga, Young Gemini, Natasha Mlalazi, Paddington Chiwashira, Melyssa and Cleo Arie.
With anticipation mounting, fans are counting down to what promises to be a spectacular celebration of Zimbabwean arts and culture.
