CAPS United arrived in Lilongwe, Malawi on Friday evening ahead of a two-week training camp in the Warm Heart of Africa as part of their preparations for the 2026 Premier Soccer League season.
The Green Machine have lined up three friendly matches against sides from the Malawi top flight, beginning with a high-profile clash against Silver Strikers this Sunday.
The encounter will be staged at Silver Stadium in what is expected to draw a sizeable crowd.
Head coach Takesure Chiragwi admitted surprise at the level of excitement generated by the fixture in the Malawian capital.
"We are quite surprised with the amount of interest this match has brought across Lilongwe. Maybe it's because our team has Malawian players as well as technical personnel. But all the same, we want to win the match and assess our level of preparedness," Chiragwi said.
Makepekepe will play two additional matches during their stay before rounding off the tour with a regional test against Mozambican side UD Songo.
The tour is expected to give Chiragwi a clearer picture of his squad depth and tactical readiness as CAPS United seek a strong start to the 2026 campaign.
