Embattled Citizens Against Economic Sanctions (CAES) expelled leader Martin Zharare is facing fresh allegations of stealing presidential inputs in Mashonaland West province.
Sources close to the investigations told this publication that Zharare allegedly diverted 50 bags of fertiliser meant for CAES beneficiaries, giving them instead to his relatives and associates.
"We received a complaint at ZRP Mamina in Mhondoro where he is being accused of stealing 50 bags of fertiliser at Mamina depot in December and never giving them to CAES members," a source said.
Zharare was expelled last month by the CAES board after several disgruntled members accused him of misconduct and deception.
However, Zharare insists he remains the legitimate leader of CAES and claims to have fired the entire board.
