Mnangagwa confers liberation hero status on Nguluvhe

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has conferred liberation hero status on the late Andres Mutoyiwana Nguluvhe, the elder brother of Albert Nguluvhe, the Minister of State for Matebeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution.
Nguluvhe died on Sunday at the age of 91.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on May 19, 2026, by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya.
"His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, Cde Mnangagwa has conferred liberation war hero status to the late Nguluvhe Mutoyiwana Andres who died on 17 May 2026. He will be buried in Beitbridge, Chapongwe Village under Chief Matibe," part of the statement read.
According to family sources, the late Nguluvhe suffered a stroke at his rural home last Tuesday before being transferred to United Bulawayo Hospitals, where he died on Sunday at around 7PM.
He is expected to be buried on Saturday at his rural home in Chapongwe Village under Chief Matibe in Beitbridge.
Nguluvhe died on Sunday at the age of 91.
