The Botswana Police Service has confirmed that objects recovered from a 28-year-old Zimbabwean national, Nyasha Mudzongeri, are not human body parts.

Forensic and scientific examinations reportedly found that the objects only resembled male human organs, dispelling earlier concerns about their origin.

According to police investigations, Mudzongeri allegedly used the objects to deceive members of the public by claiming to possess supernatural powers capable of curing personal problems and removing misfortunes.

Police allege that some people were persuaded to pay money in exchange for the purported spiritual services.

Mudzongeri has already appeared before the Francistown Magistrates’ Court on allegations of entering Botswana through an illegal entry point.

Police are now preparing additional charges linked to the alleged fraudulent activities.

The Botswana Police Service has urged members of the public to exercise caution when dealing with individuals who claim to possess supernatural powers and demand payment for solving personal or spiritual problems.

Police said investigations into the matter are continuing.
