Former CAES boss Zharare summoned by Chief Nembire over fraud allegations
MASHONALAND CENTRAL - Former Citizens Against Economic Sanctions (CAES) leader Martin Zharare has reportedly been summoned to appear before Chief Nembire on October 17 over allegations that he used the traditional leader's name in dealings involving members of the anti-sanctions organisation.
According to information made available to this publication, Zharare is expected to appear before the traditional court under case number 52/26 to answer to allegations relating to the alleged misuse of Chief Nembire's name.
The allegations reportedly stem from claims that Zharare used the chief's name in engagements involving CAES members and also allegedly invoked the traditional leader's name in court proceedings while defending himself in a magistrates' court matter.
Details regarding the alleged fraud remain unclear, including the number of people allegedly affected and the value of any money or property involved.
It was also not immediately established whether a formal criminal complaint had been lodged with the police in connection with the allegations.
Chief Nembire's traditional court is expected to hear the matter on October 17.
At the time of publication, Zharare had not publicly responded to the allegations.
The claims remain allegations and have not been tested before a court of law.
