A Bindura businessman is on the run after stabbing two brothers with a knife after a dispute over beer bottles.
Obert Nyahuma (42) of Chevakadzi village under Chief Mutumba is wanted by police in connection with an attempted murder case after he allegedly stabbed Shingai Maruza (28) on the shoulder and Trymore Maruza (20) in the stomach.
Mashonaland police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ordein Mhundwa confirmed the incident.
"Police are investigating an attempted murder case of a man who assaulted and stabbed two brothers in Bindura," said Ass Insp Mhundwa.
It is alleged that on March 22 Nyahuma, who owns a bottle store, and Shingai had a heated argument over beer bottles.
An altercation then erupted between the two and Nyahuma is said to have started assaulting the complainant with fists and booted feet which triggered Trymore's intervention.
Nyahuma then allegedly stabbed Trymore with a knife in the stomach, exposing his intestines while Shingai was stabbed on the shoulder.
Trymore is battling for his life at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare.
Ass Insp Mhundwa urged members of the public not to resolve matters using violence and must report their misunderstanding before resorting to violence.
