Online voters' roll dismissed as bogus

The Registrar General has dismissed the online voters' roll being run by the website www.myzimvote.con as bogus and linked to MDC-T, with a non-governmental organisation aligned to the Western-sponsored party being part of the scheme.
The online roll appeared designed to discredit the actual voters' roll as it gives wrong information to almost everyone who searches.
Registrar-General Tobaiwa Mudede yesterday said the voters' roll running on the website was illegal as the law did not allow an individual to reproduce a voters' roll for inspection.
Mudede said the dubious 'voters' roll contained information that was obtained by one Topper Whitehead, a self-proclaimed election analyst, who inspected the voters' roll on behalf of MDC-T in 2004.
