Former Zanu-PF Mashonaland West province acting chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi, has been barred from holding any party leadership position for the next two years. This follows the National Disciplinary Committee recommendations, which were endorsed by the Politburo at its 291st Ordinary Session on September 9.

The same meeting overturned the vote of no confidence motions against provincial vice chairman Keith Guzah and secretary for administration Simbarashe Ziyambi.

Reads a letter to acting Mashonaland West provincial chairman Ephraim Chengeta by Secretary for administration Dr Ignatius Chombo dated September 11: "Ziyambi Ziyambi be suspended from holding any leadership position in any organ of the party for two (2) years." Ziyambi, who is also Zvimba West National Assembly member, however, remains an ordinary card carrying member.

He also remains a member of the Mashonaland West provincial coordinating committee.

The Mashonaland West provincial executive passed a vote of no confidence on Ziyambi on allegations of fanning factionalism, insubordination and failure to discharge his responsibilities as chairman, leading to the proper restructuring of the party in the province.

He was also accused of passing sensitive information to ousted Mashonaland West chairman Temba Mliswa, who also faced allegations of pursuing a putchist cabal agenda.
