Insiza North MP completes over 30 projects in one year

Insiza North legislator Delani Moyo (Zanu PF) has completed more than 30 development projects in under a year following his election in the June by‑elections, according to a report released by his office.

Moyo replaced the late Zanu PF MP Farai Taruvinga and, according to the statement, has implemented a range of initiatives using personal resources, support from the ruling party and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

"Moyo, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Insiza North Constituency, has undertaken numerous tangible initiatives for the constituency and its people. He has made personal donations, utilised support from Zanu PF and the CDF," the statement reads.

Among the completed projects are the drilling and solarisation of a borehole at Siwazi Village, Montrose 4; the donation of 20 000 bricks to St Lucy School in Ward 22; 60 bags of cement to Siyazama Primary School; 20 bags of cement to Siyazama Secondary School; and 20 bags of cement to Lochard Primary School in Ward 14.

The MP also donated roofing materials to Pioneer Primary School in Ward 13. Irsivale in Ward 13 received a JoJo tank, solar panels and a pump for its borehole, as well as doors for the maternity ward. Ward 23 in Shangani received four boxes of road‑runner chicks.

Ensango Primary School in Ward 22 received US$1 200 for development projects. Moyo also spearheaded the construction and installation of a NetOne network booster at Lambamai in Ward 20, funded water surveyors at Mulula Primary School and facilitated borehole drilling.

According to the statement, Phaphama Clinic in Ward 19 received a solar‑powered borehole and JoJo tank. Additional boreholes were drilled at Shangagwe C, Mpalawani in Ward 20, Lambamai Primary School in Ward 20, Kombo Village 8 in Ward 22, and Pioneer Rest in Ward 16.

Further boreholes were drilled at Village 1 in Ward 18, Lochard Primary School in Ward 14, and Mpalawani Primary School in Ward 21. A solar‑powered borehole was also donated to Shangani Mine Secondary School.

Road maintenance works were carried out along the Montrose-Phaphama-Virginia Road, including 41km of motorised grading and 21.5km of verge clearing. Borehole maintenance was conducted at Nkankezi Business Centre, Village 20, and in Wards 18, 14 and 22.

At Lambamai Clinic in Ward 20, Moyo donated 20 000 bricks for staff housing and supported foundation trenching.

The MP's office added that a solar‑powered borehole was installed at Irsivale Secondary School, while Shangani Mine residents in Ward 23 also received a solar‑powered borehole. Infrastructure development in Ward 23 included the construction of modern vending bays for Vendors4ED, supported by 10 000 bricks.

A solar‑powered borehole was installed for vendors at Shangani Business Centre, and another at Pagama Primary School. Moyo has also initiated a broader programme to solarise boreholes across the constituency to ensure sustainable water access.

The office further noted collaboration with stakeholders such as Miners for ED and the Women Empowerment group, who pledged construction materials to support ongoing projects.

"Moyo is at work. Phambili ngikusebenza, and more is yet to follow, brick by brick," the statement concluded.
