Zimbabweans in 2018 must elect leader with clear vision & economic policies to revive devastated economy

In an ideal world there would be no famines, no wars, no genocide, no crime and no poverty. All men would live freely, peacefully and with honor, our debates would not be characterized by lies and demagoguery. Our media houses would report the truth and, of course, I would have more money. There would be little need for political leaders but those we choose to lead us would possess all the good qualities; charismatic, brave, confident, visionary yet never losing that "common man" appeal. We would be led by what Plato, in The Republic, calls Philosopher Kings. In a more perfect world the preferred candidate for President, Morgan Tsvangirai, would be more comely, more refined and very much democratic. In Zimbabwe, we have to choose those amongst us who should lead and I will state why the choice of the people will be Morgan Tsvangirai.

When Zimbabweans vote in 2018 they will have possibly six choices for president; Morgan Tsvangirai, Robert Mugabe, Welshman Ncube, Joyce Mujuru, Tendai Biti, Elton Mangoma. Welshman Ncube will stand, nevertheless, just to be in the history of Zimbabwe as a failed politician who showed courage and campaigned regardless of well known facts at his disposal that he will never win any election. This is the same with Biti and Mangoma. They will stand in that election to prove to the world that, indeed, they broke away from the Morgan Tsvangirai led MDCT and managed to form parties that contested national elections. Mugabe's Zanu will re-tool their rigging aparatus, as is usually the case, in an effort to deny people of their victory, but unfortunately nothing can stop change whose time has come. Mujuru PF will be there just for the sake of it, to also prove that they have the capacity to campaign and participate in an election against their former master.

NB: Above all, people will vote for Morgan Tsvangirai. Why?

I want to state, right away here and fully, what the decision to Vote Morgan Tsvangirai means. We have heard all the reasons and vitriol against him; he is inconsistent, his policies lack depth and clarity and, the more ridiculous ones, he is ugly and uneducated. Even disregarding the inane reasons, it would be naïve, foolish and dishonest to disregard all what the detractors say. Some of the things are true, and being of nature's case they are irrelevant in politics. I do not care how handsome or ugly Tsvangirai or any other politician is; we are going to an election to choose the best leader, not a beauty contest. Besides, would one take an almost blind 94 year and toothless old man to a beauty contest? A fat old PF "big mama guerrilla", a smelly and visibly weak Green man, a visibly sick and arrogant PDP man, and a one legged RDZ man for a beauty contest? As for being educated it is no secret that Morgan Tsvangirai is a holder of two doctorate degrees. Whether honorary or whatever, its not my concern here, but the bottom line is he has two PHDs all from a reputable  University. He is Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. Period! It is therefore all the more remarkable that he leads the country's biggest political party - as reflected when we last had a presidential election which he won. Additionally, as we have seen time and again, education does not translate to common sense and wisdom. Mugabe's 21 degrees have resulted into a destruction of the once bread basket of Africa, Zimbabwe.

- The idiots in ZANU PF and Mujuru's PF, many who are very learned, have presided over this country for three decades and have made poor decisions resulting in catastrophic policies. Ironically they were convinced that pure diesel could come out of a rock - courtesy of the ancestors, by a village hoaxer. Who doesn't know that members of the so called PF are the very ones who went and knelt before the grade 7 Rotina Mavunga in the mountains of Chinhoyi, against natural and scientific facts, waiting for some "manna diesel' to ooze from those rocky mountains.

- People will vote for Morgan Tsvangirai not because they always agree with what he says and what his policies are, but they are absolutely convinced that the MDC led by Tsvangirai is much better than ZANU PF (and of course the "real Zanu") in many ways, especially the fact that it brought stability in the GNU when the country was at the verge of a total collapse.

- When people air out their disagreements with Tsvangirai there are no thugs to make sure that they become "politically correct'. Forget the Mangoma saga, that guy sent his own thugs to tear his shirt in a desperate attempt to attract sympathy in his failed mission to dethrone an elected leadership. Members of the Mujuru PF have been on the forefront of violence against opposition supporters. Notably, Dydimus Mutasa has his hands dripping with the blood of the young Maisiri who was murdered at his instructions in Headlands because his father supported Morgan Tsvangirai's MDC. He hasn't cleared himself of that criminal act. Who doesn't know that people where murdered at Mujuru's farm for having attempted to scavenge for their God given natural resources in the Chiadzwa fields?

- People will vote for Morgan Tsvangirai because he dared to stand up to an exploitative, corrupt and rapacious system. His courage, notwithstanding the beatings and arrests, brought and continues to bring hope to millions of Zimbabweans, who have been reduced to destitutes by Mugabe and a group now calling itself PF or the "real Zanu".

- People will vote for Morgan Tsvangirai because he offers hope for our nation to fully realize its potential. Three decades of self-rule, and with vast natural resources and the most educated populace in Africa, the majority of Zimbabweans are poor while some ministers are as rich as Croesus. ZANU PF (and PF, the real Zanu) will mark thirty eight years in power in 2018 and thats the very reason why we need new brains to tackle the problems we face, and this can be obtained from the MDCT led by Morgan Tsvangirai.

- People will vote for Tsvangirai because we need to change the way this country is run and of the candidates list above, he is the only one who promises to weed out corruption, to fire the incompetent and not to drag us into further international isolation. Joyce Mujuru is a culprit and a co-destroyer of Zimbabwe's fortunes together with her "spiritual father', the failed Robert Mugabe. In fact Mujuru's PF harbours the most corrupt, murderers, and useless group of failed politicians, who enjoyed the destruction of Zimbabwe before they lost favour with their godfather Mugabe.

- People will vote for Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDCT because there are many youths and middle age group of people we can relate to like Hon Thokozani Khupe, Hon Lovemore Moyo, Hon Morgan Komichi, Hon Douglas Mwonzora, Hon Paurine Mupariwa Gwanyanya, Hon Teresa Makoni, Hon Charlton Hwende, Hon  Abedenico Bhebhe, Hon Caster Machingauta, Hon Obert Gutu, Hon Thabhita Khumalo, Hon Kore , Hon Happymore Chidziva, Hon Nelson Chamisa, Hon Job Wiwa Sikhala, Hon Elias Mudzuuri, Hon Tapiwa Mashakada, Hon Ben Chiondegwa, Hon Eddie Cross, Hon Gideon Shoko, Hon Sithembile Mhlotshwa, Hon Sibusisiwe Masara, Hon Sesil Zvidzai, Hon Memory Mbondia, Hon Murisi Zvizvai, Hon  Clifford Hlatywayo, Hon Jameson Timba, Hon Webba Chinyadza  and others. Robert Mugabe and ZANU PF (Mujuru PF included) have fiercely resisted the winds of change. Their policies and approach to disgruntled youths in Universities and Institutions of Higher Learning has been inimical and confrontational. As a result after three decades in power their connection with the youth is weak, there are no youths ascending the ZANU PF political ladder and no clear succession plan. In fact, their attempt to climb the ladder is met with stiff resistance and attacks from those old beasts masquerading as liberation war heroes. Morgan Tsvangirai is surrounded by fresh and capable individuals such as Hon Thokozani Kupe , Hon Lovemore Moyo, Hon Morgen Komichi, Hon Douglas Mwonzora, Hon Paurine Mupariwa Gwanyanya, Hon Teresa Makoni, Hon Charlton Hwende, Hon  Abedenico Bhebhe, Hon Machingauta, Hon Obert Gutu, Hon Thabhita Khumalo, Hon Happymore Chidziva, Hon Kore, Hon Jobs Wiwa Sikhala, Hon Nelson Chamisa, Hon Tapiwa Mashakada, Hon Elias Mudzuri, Hon Elliot Pfebve, Hon R M Simango and many others, whilst Mugabe offers the same old, corrupt, tried and failed team. Mujuru PF offers the same selection of failed, old and corrupt individuals, some of whom will be probably dead or at the brink of death by 2018.

Political pundits and protagonists have thrown theories, assumptions and scenarios left right and centre, trying to discredit the majority favorite His Excellence President Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, putting all bad images of him and covering him with negatives all round. Unfortunately Zimbabweans know what they want and who they want to lead them after the failed Mugabe. There is definitely  no reason why Tsvangirai's enemies should continue throwing vitriol against him; people have said "YES" to Morgan Tsvangirai, and that is that. No amount of force will change their thinking.

United we Win
Divided we Fail
