ICJ to observe Chamisa poll challenge
19 Aug 2018 at 01:23hrs | Views
DEAR EDITOR,
The International Commission of Jurists will be sending a delagation of emminent jurists to Zimbabwe to observe Advocate Nelson Chamisa's Constitutional Court challenge set for Wednesday 22 August.
I have confirmed this position with the Director of the Africa Regional Programme of the ICJ Mr. Arnold Tsunga today. This will promote transparency and credibility to the whole process such that, as the old adage says, Justice will not only be done but seen to be done.
The ICJ has also observed Kenya's disputed poll challenge last year, which ended in fresh elections.
Developing story by Walter Nyabadza.
