A training camp for premiership out of contract players is underway at the Heath Streak Cricket Academy.
The camp organised by Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) has attracted over 60 players who are hoping to catch the eye of coaches with local clubs.
The training camp has former Warriors players Joel Luphahla and Dazzy Kapenya leading out in the field of play with the assistance of goalkeepers' coach, Peter 'Oxo' Nkomo and fitness trainer Itai Kapini.
The camp is expected to showcase some of the talent that is out of contract for clubs to snatch up.
When the ZBC News crew visited the training camp coaches Melusi Sibanda and Gift Lunga Junior, both from Highlanders, recently crowned Southern Region Division 1 Champions Bantu Rovers gaffer Johannes 'Signature' Ngodzo and Richard Choruma were among those assessing the talent on display hoping to identify potential acquisitions.
Organisers FUZ president Desmond 'Gazza' Maringwa said the training camps have recorded many success stories.
Maringwa also revealed that another camp is set for June with a selected side from it to take part in a tournament in South Africa.
Last year, former Prince Edward and Highlanders forward, Obert Tafira was signed by University of Pretoria during one such tournament.
Besides training, the players are also receiving lectures on subjects that include the laws of the game, match fixing, fitness and health as well as behavioural change.
