The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) last night launched a new Warriors kit ahead of the team's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Mali at Rufaro stadium on Sunday.

The unveiling ceremony of the new kit was poorly organised as the team and the technical staff walked into the function room wearing various club colours, instead of national colours.

The launch, which started late, was attended by various stakeholders including sponsors, the PSL and supporters.

Education, Sports, Arts & Culture Permanent Secretary, Dr Stephen Mahere was the Guest of Honour.

Despite such organisational hiccups, the new PUMA kit is a quality brand and the development will see the Warriors entering the big boys club such as African giants, Cameroon, who also wear the same brand.

ZIFA Board member- Marketing, Nigel Munyati also said the kit is standard.

The Warriors have been without a branded kit since parting ways with Italian sportswear company, Legea.

Zimbabwe football teams have humiliatingly participated at major tournaments donning unbranded kits.

Football supporters hailed the new kit as a good development for the sport that will hopefully motivate the national teams to perform better against Mali.

Meanwhile, Amai Jocelyn Chiwenga presented the team with formal suits, shoes & shirts to be worn by the team and officials on Sunday.

Local fans have once again been called to rally behind the team on Sunday to unsettle the Malians.

Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association Executive Secretary, Fortune "Giant" Bgwoni said it is imperative that the Warriors fans pack Rufaro to the rafters and back coach Norman Mapeza and his team as they seek their first win of this campaign.
