Kaiser Chiefs' hotshot Knowledge Musona has extended his contract with the South African giants by a year, SuperSport.com has learnt.
The development comes amid revelations that a number of European clubs are monitoring the 20-year-old's progress.
The terms of Musona's improved deal, sealed last week, could however not be established.
The Zimbabwean striker initially signed a three-year contract on joining Chiefs at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season.
It is however during the current campaign that he has come into his own, with his goals proving crucial in his Chiefs' quest for the league title.
A product of the Aces Youth Soccer Academy (AYSA) in Harare, Musona tops the Absa Premiership top goal-scorer's chat with nine league goals to his credit.
But he had remained among the club's lowest paid players having joined the club as an unknown entity, barely recognized even in his native Zimbabwe.
An impeccable source at Chiefs told SuperSports.com that although 'The Smiling Assassin's contract with Chiefs now runs to 2013, his stay at the club was unlikely to last until then.
"The lad has been in terrific form of late and several European clubs are showing real interest.
"But Musona and his advisers are understood to favour a club where he can get some game time.
'Everything will get clearer in the weeks and months to come," said the source.
Musona made his competitive Warriors debut last year in August, scoring in the 1-1 draw away to Liberia in Africa Nations Cup qualifier.
He remains the brightest prospect among a slew of talented young players emerging from the Zimbabwean Premiership.
