FORMER Generations star Menzi Ngubane is the latest victim of identity theft. This was after he discovered that someone on Facebook has been faking his life.
The Menzi Ngubane on Facebook has about 85,000 followers, but it is not the real Menzi. After being told by various people that they follow him on Facebook, Menzi was shocked.
Speaking to the Daily Sun, he said: "I was ignorant until my friends started telling me they like my posts and messages of encouragement."
Menzi said he didn't pay attention to it until his family started telling him he's quite popular on Facebook.
"I was puzzled because I'm not on any social network. Then I decided to check this Menzi out and I was shocked that he posts my pictures and press clips as if he's me," said Menzi.
"This person has 85,000 followers and my concern is that he's going to use my name in vain. He might raise funds using my name, rip people off and run with people's money and I'll be blamed for that," he added.
"I'm not on Facebook or any social network."
Menzi has started shooting on eTV's telenovela Ashes to Ashes.
"I'm pissed off because this person could be a serial killer who might lure young girls and rape them. I'm considering taking the legal route as I don't know his next move," he said. – DailySun.
